Product Developer

Boulder, CO

About the position

Seeking a product development specialist at a startup making buying or selling a home frictionless. Neat has developed an end-to-end home selling, buying, and financing platform designed to deliver a one session process. Our service yields massive savings for our clients, provides transparent education to put them in control of the process, and delivers the certainty of cash-like financing. In short, we clean up the entire transaction to make it neat. We are growing extraordinarily fast, even with all the obvious Covid-related challenges.

We are looking to bring on our first dedicated product team member to help us deliver more wow experiences to our internal and external users. Your primary responsibilities would include:

  • Interface with senior management and key stakeholders to help determine functionality, requirements and prioritization for our products.
  • Lead efforts to specify new features and improvements for the tech team to efficiently implement.
  • Measure, track and analyze usage data about our products to determine if released features are working correctly, are utilized, and delivering upon the expected improvements.
  • Analyze transaction-level details to understand where our automation worked, where it needs improvement, and communicate these learnings back to the tech team for improvement.
  • Create and manage training content for our internal teams on how to use our products. This would include video and text for our knowledge base, and presentations for new hires.

The ideal candidate has at least a few years of product experience building software products in a complicated space with mostly unsophisticated users. Mortgage lending is incredibly complicated and detail orientated, but our borrowers only go through the process once every few years. So our primary product challenge is transforming the details of mortgage lending into an easy to understand and efficient process.

It is not required that you have any mortgage industry experience. We have plenty of mortgage industry veterans and subject matter experts on the team for you to lean on.

Other Qualifications

  • Must be flexible and open to change. Things happen quickly around here and you have to keep up.
  • Our team is awesome and collaborative. We’re looking for new developers to complement that.
  • We have a strict no-egos policy.

Why You Might Want to Work Here

  • You’ll work with a driven, experienced and passionate team – one we hope will be the best in your career.
  • We do the right thing, always put the client above our own business interests, value transparency, and seek to have a positive impact on our community.
  • Real estate transactions can be a huge pain, and you can help bring comfort, confidence, and clarity to the process.
  • Many of us are outdoor enthusiasts with love for all the awesome things to do in our wonderful state. We have a powder policy and are climbers, hikers, bikers, runners and skiers.
  • We strive to create a diverse workspace, which includes three female co-founders. We aren’t bros. There’s a good mix of people here with a family-friendly culture.
  • We collaborate well across the entire organization, fully embrace a confidence without attitude/ego policy, and genuinely seek to learn from each other.
